It's too bad that Disney doesn't seem at all interested in the live action Star Wars series Lucas & others had already worked on. Back when the Clone Wars animated series was first announced Lucasfilm announced a live action series at the same time. I believe the last thing I read about that live action show (several years ago now I think, certainly before Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm) Lucasfilm had many of the scripts written out and ready for whenever they decided to start production.

No one knows the Mandalorian's real name, they just call him Paladin. Paladin's a mercenary, traveling the Outer Rim solving the problems of those who hire him, and the helpless. You can follow Paladin's adventures each week in:

This strikes me as a redo of Boba Fett.
You see, he's seen as this 'Man With No Name' style badass but he came off as a bit of a chump in the original series and his complicated backstory in the prequels muddies the water even further in that regard. If you wanted to make a Man With No Name style Boba Fett movie or series you'd have to do a major overhaul to the existing character to fulfill that ideal. Better to just start from scratch with a new Mandalorian character who can be all the things we wanted Boba Fett to be that he never really was.

Boba Fett just didn't make any sense as a movie. We already know what happens to him in every step of his life: he was a sad boy, he got a cool costume, and then he got dead.

^ but for a character that is more style than substance wouldn't it have been cool to see him in a sci-fi john wick styled flick?

^ I think creating a new Mandalirian who can be all those things that people expected of Boba Fett that were never really borne out by that character makes more sense.

I'm fine with the Cassian Andor series, especially if that means more K2-SO.
