Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher's mother, died today. Reynolds is survived by her son Todd Fisher (Carrie's brother) and Billie Lourd (Carrie's daughter)

I know Reynolds hasn't done much that would fall under the fantasy & sci-fi genres, but she is Carrie's so I figured here would be the best place.

Most people probably know Reynolds from Singin' In the Rain, she was also in Bundle of Joy with then husband Eddie Fisher (and pregnant with Carrie during filming), Madame in Disney's 1998 dub of Kiki's Delivery Service, Lilith Prescott in the Cinerama classic How The West Was Won, and voiced Charlotte A. Cavatica in the 1973 classic animated film adaptation of Charlotte's Web just to scratch the surface.

Damn it.

I really feel for Carrie's daughter. Can't imagine loosing your mother and grandmother in a few days.

Anyway, here's a sweet part from How The West Was Won, when gambler Gregory Peck sees Debbie singing 'Home in the Meadow' (to the tune of Greensleeves) and falls in love with her.

She was also an avid movie memorabilia collector. Her museum(s) had Charlie Chaplin's bowler hat and Marilyn Monroe's famous white dress from The Seven Year Itch among many many other iconic Hollywood items.

How tragic, that Debbie Reynolds should lose her life one day after losing her daughter;I can't begin to imagine the grief shared by Todd Fisher&his niece. My prayers&deepest condolences go out to then for this horrific double loss.

It's sad to think that the two of them died one day apart. :(
