R.I.P. Carrie Fisher

Postby O.Supreme » Tue Dec 27, 2016 2:18 pm

A most sad day indeed. I know she had health issues related to past demons, but my condolences go to family & friends. I know this could easily get buried in another Star Wars thread, but just wanted to give it its own. Though she may not have been at the top of her career during episode VII (and hopefully what we will se in episode VIII), she still was a very beautiful person.

Oddly enough I had an Uncle pass away earlier this year, same age, for very similar reasons.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Princess Leia, prolific script doctor, a voice for those recovering from addiction and dealing with mental illness, and one of the funniest people - seriously, whenever she was a guest on Craig Ferguson's much-missed show it was a delight.

It's a damn gut-punch. She was far too young. Screw this.

If 2016 truly wanted to rip out my heart & stomp on it, then it's '' mission accomplished!'' with this terrible, tragic news. I was praying like mad that Carrie would recover from her heart attack, but alas, it was not to be. Rest In Peace, Carrie; we miss you so much it hurts...

Her role as Princess Leia in the 'Star Wars' franchise defined her to millions of fans, but it was in her ability as a writer and humorist to bring self-deprecating insight to her own bumpy life that Fisher truly ruled.

It's a pity that she died. At least, we'll get to see her one last time in Star Wars 8.
