While I'm happy and excited that a new Star Trek series is finally seeing the light of day, I'm disappointed that this is going to be another prequel. I was looking forward to seeing a series continue maybe years after Voyager. The possibilities of seeing old cast members from TNG, DS9 or Voyager make cameos would've been really neat.
But it is what is is I guess...

It seems to be chaos. I feel bad for Star Trek fans, as it showed such promise with a return to the main continuity and Fuller as show runner straight off of Hannibal.
... but who knows? Maybe from the chaos will come a great show!

What's with all the light glare (and maybe even a few lens flares)? They were annoying in Nu-Trek, and doubly so for STD in this trailer. Still no intention of paying for CBS All Access just to this show.

Yeah, CBS really should have changed the title once people figured out the shortened form of Star Trek: Discovery was going to be STD. You can just see all the groan worthy headlines, especially if people aren't watching the show because it's locked behind CBS All Access.

At the very least: Michelle Yeoh and Doug Jones both in a show is pretty awesome.

If I remember correctly, only the US is stuck with CBS All Access (maybe Canada too, I'm not sure); pretty much everywhere else in the world the new show is on Netflix.
