Mouse Guard should have been adapted as a full 2D carton movie before trying to do the CGI version.

This sounds a lot like the Redwall books. I'd rather have a movie of those, to be honest.

I've read a little of this. It's pretty good! Cool thing about the books is that it's formated in a unique size and shape unlike any other comic.

I feel bad for David Peterson, the cartoonist who created the comic. Having the promise of a feature film adaptation right there only to have it snatched away at the 11th hour must suuuuuuuck. I've read about many cartoonists with similar experiences who had movies and TV shows almost happen.

That's too bad, I guess there's room for only one heroic rodent in the House of Mouse's empire. That "too similar to [Disney's] other fare" excuse is paper thin at best -- I can't think of anything Disney has done over the last several years that's in the same neighborhood as MOUSE GUARD, unless you want to go really general in that Disney has had other movies with talking animals.
