I was okay with all the curveballs on first viewing, but I'm afraid they may be less satisfying the second time through.

I'll be finding out in the next few days.

I highly doubt Abrams is going to undo any of the decisions Johnson made - that would risk damaging the integrity of the series in a very serious way - but I'm nervous he might not learn the movie's lessons.

Colin Trevorrow made a crappy movie that just so happens to be fun in Jurassic World and supposedly The Book of Henry is astoundingly bad. I'm not heartbroken about him leaving.

^But his reasons for leaving I can completely understand. My personal feelings aside about TLJ. It would kind of suck if you anticipated directing Mark Hamill in one of the greatest Sci-Fi franchises of all time, then to have that taken away from you, yeah I'd probably walk away too. I thought Luke *might* die in episode IX, but while I cant say that I *hate* Last Jedi, I'm definitely in the camp of "this is not what I would have wanted"...not to the extreme of some fans, but still, my overall opinion of the film is not high.

You would think there would have been an overall arch for all 3 films, since both Johnson and Trevarrow were announced at basically the same time, long before either VIII or IX started production, if you want to have a unified vision, you should probably let the ones who need to know in on all the intricacies of this. Speaking of which, Even though the OT had 3 different directors, there was a unified vision (Which was Lucas'), but the fact that he let others direct made these great films. The Prequel trilogy, for all its flaws, still has Lucas unified vision since he was 100% hands-on with all 3.

So...Who's "Vision" is the Sequel Trilogy? Kathleen Kennedy? If so, I'm not liking it so much.

I guess I've been pretty vocal on this forum about how much I despise the new trilogy. In fact I have given up on anything Star Wars at this point unless Disney fires Kathleen Kennedy, which is never going to happen.

As Supreme said, as deeply flawed the prequel trilogy was, at least they had Luca's vision, and in alot of ways I found them watchable and enjoyable.

Kennedy has no vision at all, except to suck every amount of cash she can get from the Star Wars brand name. These movies, in my opinion, have no charm, no memorable characters, and no imagination whatsoever. They're just there to sell tickets and toys, with no regard to story or characters.

I wasnt too crazy about Jurassic World, but I understand Trevorrow's disagreements with the Last Jedi and think his vision would've worked out a lot better than what we got. I don't think he would've made the perfect Star Wars movie, but I think he would've done a better job than Johnson or Abrams.

When I see Kennedy firing directors and filmmakers left and right, I see something terribly wrong with the way she's running things. I think Lucas made a terrible mistake by putting her in charge. This is the worst thing he's done since creating Jar Jar

Pleeeeaassseee NO! They couldn’t possibly find a more smug, pretentious, over-acting actress to recast in Carrie Fisher’s place. I don’t care how many Oscars she’s won*, Meryl Streep sucks!

A possible plot has been leaked by a Reddit user, who is fairly credible because s/he also leaked Last Jedi plot details (well in advance) that were largely correct.


after looking at it i wonder what kind of cool-aid the writers are drinking.

That Reddit user is my uncle and he told me that there's totally a Super Mario Bros. 4 in Japan and he knows because he works at Nintendo.
