As long as the art design is as glorious as it was in Legacy, they've got my money.

I love Tron: the original, Legacy, Uprising, all of it. I'm glad the Legacy cast and crew are coming back for Tron 3, since Legacy foreshadowed some interesting elements for a sequel to follow up.

I've STILL never seen the second one. I sorta keep meaning to, but always forgetting. And it's NEVER talked about by ANYONE, so it sounds fairly forgettable and not like something people really care about. It's never really pushed me into actually sitting down and watching it.

i like Tron Legacy (cant stand the original)... Legacy has a great sound track and a lot of really impressive visuals and designs. There is a little bit of the uncanny valley with the Clu character, but otherwise its a sensory feast.

Yeah, I'm completely head over heels for the sound and art design of Legacy. Original was an interesting watch but it gave me a headache and I don't expect I'll ever see it again.

Demand from Chinese movie-goers could prove to be that last big push that convinces Disney execs to greenlight Tron 3. Bringing in some Hong Kong action movie elements (eg wuxia) for some of the action scenes could attract a lot of movie goers world wide.

Disney could bring it back as an Netflix exclusive.
Netflix will become the 'exclusive pay TV home' for Disney's recent hits

Damn it, don't get my hopes up unless there's real news!
Realistically, Disney has no reason to revisit financially under-performing SF properties like Tron or John Carter until Star Wars and Marvel finally stop raking in so much cash for them. If you want evidence of that, just look at the blatant assassination of Tron: Uprising in the year Disney purchased Lucasfilm, making way for the suspiciously similar Star Wars: Rebels.

I disagree about John Carter. That's a vein of gold just waiting to be mined.

Neither Tron or Tron Legacy were money makers, but both have a cult following. I loved Tron Legacy and the Tron Uprising cartoon series, and I know many others did too. It would make a lot more sense to continue with the story that Legacy established instead of rebooting it and starting from scratch. I have no interest in a reboot whatsoever, so if they continue with this lamebrain reboot idea Disney will probably end losing many of the Tron fans as well. Oh well, it's their loss.
