I was hoping against hope that he would pull through (from these recent health stories), but it was not to be.
Thank you Mr. Nimoy for all the great memories!

Such a sad day. Such a great man. He's one of the few celebrities that I've heard no bad stories about. No rushed encounters, no dismissive remarks, and loved every aspect of his craft. He was a rare gem, even rarer to be in such a niche genre. Trek would seriously be a different beast if it weren't for his input.
If I wasn't working I'd be with my friend bawling while watching Star Trek 2 and 3.

This is a tough one. I mean, is it even possible to not love Leonard Nimoy? He was very kind, intellectual, artistic, and he was Spock!

He would be missed. He was with Star Trek since the beginning of the series.

I had read about his failing health recently. My wife works for hospice and explained to me what COPD is. She seemed to know... and while I pondered it, I just pushed it aside and refused to think about it. I said a prayer and hoped he'd pull through. Last night, I was working in my office when she called from her office to ask if I had heard that Leonard Nimoy died. I faltered and then quickly clicked on Yahoo for some info. As soon as I saw his picture on one of the story links I started crying. My wife came in and put her arms around me and I bawled like a baby for almost 10 minutes. When I finally composed myself and assured her I was OK, she left the room and I silently cried again. HARD.
I knew, but suppose I never guessed the depths to which this incredible man and his body of work over the years had shaped & impacted my life. It is so incredibly sad and more than a little scary to think of our world without Nimoy and Spock in it. The massive number of fan comments on the various stories links underscores and solidifies his far-reaching and long lasting power as both an actor and a human being. When I got myself together we ate some supper and of course sat down and watched Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. And when Spock died, we were both bawling, even though she's not a Trek fan.
Jesus. What utterly sad news. You leave a staggering legacy behind, Leonard. You have and shall continue to inspire thousands upon thousands of individuals to reach for the stars. God speed & rest in peace.

Of all the recent celebrity deaths, this has hit me the hardest.Leonard Nimoy has been a most welcome presence in our lives ;in addition to his iconic portrayal of Spock I also really liked his stints as host of ''IN SEARCH OF...'' and ''LIGHTS!CAMERA!ACTION!''(an early 80's Nickelodeon show delving behind the scenes of sci-fi,fantasy&horror films;in many ways, this show was the template for Discovery Channel's ''MOVIE MAGIC'')& of course cameo appearances plus voiceover roles too numerous to mention.Additionally,I was happy to see him become a successful director...
My deepest, most heartfelt condolences go out to Leonard's loved ones.
