I'm fine with Carol being the focus, but I still want Mar-Vell to be involved in some way.

Wonder if they'll tie her intro into the "Guardians" sequel in some way???

So we're finally getting a Marvel movie with a female lead? It's about time.

It's cool to see Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel getting a movie, hopefully we'll see Mar-Vell in the movie for a bit. Although the mysterious dead blue alien, reportedly a Kree, seen in S1 of Agents of SHIELD has me wondering if any such appearances may be post-humous.
Speaking of Marvel super-heroines, I had hoped Marvel would have made a Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) movie by now.

"There are things you wouldn’t think twice about Iron Man but you would think twice about for Captain Marvel," says Nicole Perlman.

Setting Captain Marvel in the early '90s is very intriguing. Kevin Feige confirmed that the Skrulls will be the villains. With the movie taking place long before Iron Man or the rest of the Marvel movies (sans Captain America), I wonder if they're setting the stage for any longtime MCU characters to be revealed as shapeshifting Skrulls playing a long game.

I know there may not be time, but I hope the original Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) makes an appearance, considering the hostilities between the Kree/Skrull, and that Carol Danvers, at least for a time takes on the moniker of "Ms.Marvel", before inheriting the role of Captain from her fallen comrade

^I believe that's the color scheme of the original (as in original Marvel Comics version) Captain Marvel's costume, right?

It's just hurting my head so much to see commenters on social media confuse this with DC Comics Captain Marvel (now officially known as Shazam to avoid such confusion). I'll admit for the common person, confusion is understandable, but for supposed "comic book" fans there should be no confusion. They are attacking this film for a great many reasons, none of which are valid. Personally, I kind of wished that this story was about the Kree alien Mar-Vel as well (The original Marvel Comics Captain Marvel) , but I'm sure there will be some reference/explanation. But, at the same time, I originally wanted the Ant-Man film to focus on Hank Pym rather than Scott Lang, but that film turned out great IMHO, and Pym was still able to be a part of it. Does anyone know if someone has been cast to play Mar-Vel?
