Whether you wear the boxers of Justice, the tidy whitey's of Evil, or go the commando of I Don't Care, you should be excited about the return of one of the most fantastic hero's of all time to the small screen.

The only downside is it's on Amazon which means you have to have their streaming service and then pay for the episodes. But since it's Warburton and Ben Edlund will be doing the writing, I'm sure that you'll see fans lining up for it.

SPOOOOOOOON!

I didn't catch much of the show when it aired, but what I caught of it I liked. And Patrick Warburton was basically born to play that role.

I didn't care for the Tick cartoon as a kid, but I did love the live action series. I'd love for it to come back.

I was both a fan of the cartoon and the live action series so this is great news!

The live action series was by far less entertaining than the animated series. I'd love for that to return so long as Townsend Coleman was doing the voice. But who knows, with better writers, the live action Tick might be closer to the true hilarity of the animated version. Also they need to bring in the true American Maid & Die Fladuermaus, not those cheap imitations the live action show had.

^Those two characters were created for the cartoon, so Edlund discovered he didn't have the rights to them and had to create approximate characters for the live action show.

Too bad Warburton won't be back in the suit. I have no idea who could play the role half as well as he did it. :(

The pilot is up for free on amazon. It's mostly set-up, but it definitely has potential. Serafinowicz is pretty great as The Tick, much more evocative of the cartoon version than Warburton's previous live action version.

I enjoyed the pilot. It's a bit awkward the way it mixes rather depressing drama with comedy, but hopefully a full season would give it a chance to iron that out.

Watched the pilot last night. It is basically an Arthur origin story. I liked that they included his sister Dot (though she is quite different from her animated persona), and I somehow doubt Dinosaur Neil will make an appearance...At one point I almost thought, they way they were setting things up, that The Tick might be a delusional character made up in Arthur's mind, especially with the flashbacks, but at the end when The Tick went solo to take out the bad guys at the dock, all that was put to rest. He had some pretty funny one liners, and some monologues evocative of the series, even an almost shot-for-shot recap of The Ticks first time in Arthur's apartment (looking for the secret HQ entrance etc..) . As a father though...I wasn't big on all the cursing. I wanted to watch this with my kids as they love the animated series...but I had to wait until after they were in bed to finish it. Not sure why this series has to be rated TV-14, neither the original comics, nor the animated series needed to include adult language, it adds nothing to the story.

wow...so they did really bank everything on one episode...I guess with 16K+ views, and most of them being positive, it is worth the wait

Apparently all three of those pilots they premiered at the same time are going to series. I kinda wanna see the Jean Claude Van Damme one.

Ah, I'm glad they've changed the costume. I understand what they were going for, but the end result for that first one was just off-putting.

Now that the first half of the first season is up I'm rewatching the pilot... aaaand I've spotted one new scene so far (you can tell, because even though it's partially obscured it's obviously the new Tick costume).

^The series becomes decided less dark after the pilot episode, but there is still occasional moments of extreme violence and swearing.

This show is really quite good. I'm very happy with the decision to split the season into two chunks. It leaves you on a cliffhanger, wanting more, but at the same time the simple arc of the first 6 episodes is compelling and your metaphorically belly is good and full after you binge them all.

This new version of The Tick feels more grounded and real, but at the same time it gets the feeling across that this is occurring in a comic book world better than... maybe any other live action superhero adaptation I've seen? Can that be right? There's like a dozen superhero based TV shows on right now and The Tick is the most superhero-y? I think so. If you love the superhero genre you probably have to see The Tick.

I know there was some concern with the pilot that the show was too dark and gritty to be The Tick, but as someone who grew up with the cartoon and watched the first live action show let's just say with each subsequent episode everything becomes more recognizably Tick-esque. It just takes its time setting the table, but those Edlund-isms start coming fast and furious by the last few episodes.
