Seriously, there is no way that could even come close to the original.
BTW the house they used for the "Goondocks" was sold about 8 years ago.
According to my uncle who lives in West Seattle.
Also while visiting the ocean near either Oregon or Washington State, there were several really large rocks similar to the ones seen in the movie (kinda expected a pirate ship to sail by them).
When I recently re-watched the DVD version of the movie, I decided to listen to the commentary.
Everybody was apparently watching it at Sean Astin's house (except Sean Astin).
He came in at the end and was like "hey" and that's it.

You know, as against it as I'd be in principle, I think there's a slim chance it could work.
Forcing the Goonies, now all in their 40s, to go on some kind of adventure COULD be fun...not sure if it WOULD be very fun, but it COULD.
