Shaw Brothers Founder Sir Run Run Shaw Has Passed Away

For those who don't know, Run Run Shaw was the founder of the Shaw Brothers company and produced movies such as Blade Runner, Five Deadly Venoms, 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Come Drink with Me, Super Inframan and King Boxer (5 Fingers of Death).

What do you guys of the Shaw Brothers and the movies they've produced?

I thoroughly enjoyed Super Inframan, but i don't think i've seen any of their other films.

He was a huge influence on me- http://xenorama.blogspot.com/2014/01/ri ... -shaw.html I love a lot of the Shaws output, aside from INFRAMAN- check out HEROES OF THE EAST, KID WITH THE GOLDEN ARM and as Dr Kain said, THE FIVE DEADLY VENOMS.

BTW, FIVE FINGERS OF DEATH was made in 1972, which was a year after Bruce Lee made his first HK movie, and a year before ENTER THE DRAGON was a huge hit in the States.

The Shaw Brothers' Studio basically invented kung fu&wu xia film making as we know them today.The list of writers,directors,fight choreographers&of course actors who achieved fame working for Sir Run Run is quite extensive indeed(this continued with his TV network,TVB which launched the careers of Chow Yun Fat,Andy Lau,Tony Leung&Stephen Chow among others...)
