Not after the last one. I honestly don't know for sure if I'll bother to catch it on home video after that last one...

I loved the first Hobbit so my butt will be in the theatre for this one. The Godzilla trailer is icing on the cake.

i loved the LotR trilogy, but the first Hobbit movie annoyed me a bit. It was like 3 hours of setting the stage. The goblin encounter and Bilbo obtaining the ring were great, but a good portion of the rest of the movie was unnecessary, and rather than focus on adapting the book they create a whole "new" character as the antagonist (Azog), which could have been fine if it had been used as plot device to give the first movie some sort of arc so that it could be enjoyed on its own, but alas, not even that plot line finds resolution. When Bilbo runs out of Hobbiton excitedly announcing that he was going on an adventure, i couldn't help but feel excited to revisit the world of Middle Earth, but what followed seemed like a few forced callbacks to nearly identical scenes in the LotR movies and a number of scenes that could have been cut down significantly in order to help the pacing.I think i went into it resenting that they split it into 3 movies, so it was hard to ignore.

I know some people on here were bothered by AUJ's runtime/pacing. If it's any help, DOS will supposedly have a runtime of 156 minutes, which would make it 13 minutes shorter than the theatrical cut of the first film. Couple that with the fact that this one will be a lot more eventful and the pacing might be tighter.

Me, I liked AUJ a lot so I'm looking forward to this.

I liked AUJ fairly well, about on par maybe a little more so with FOTR (still need to rewatch AUJ), but I'm pretty stoked for DOS since it has SMAUGGGGG. :D

How someone can claim to enjoy the LOTR trilogy so much, and at the same time hate The Hobbit films seems a little strange. They feel exactly the same to me in scope, scale, storytelling etc...oh well. It's pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. As talented as GDT is, I was afraid the "world" he would have created for the Hobbit films would have felt different. Having that feeling of consistancy that PJ brings is rather satisfying. But alas, I'm not out to invalidate anyones opinion. I wont be able to get it tomorrow, but I am looking forward to the Extended Edition as well.

Haven't watched the trailer, have no need to since it is going to be an incredible movie. Most likely the best movie of the year (not that there is really much to compare, sadly). Cannot wait until my EE of the first one arrives tomorrow.

No interest in seeing this movie, but props for the use of 'desolation' in the title.

Still haven't seen the first one. Still don't have much interest in seeing it or this new one. I'll watch them when they're all available to rent. Funny thing is I would've gone to see it had it been one film. Alas, the trilogy thing killed the interest for me. I didn't want to invest myself in three years of hype when it was announced and I still don't have any interest in riding that wave today. I'll just watch'em when I watch'em.
