Alright, I didn't do a thread for Dexter, because the final season and finale ranged from underwhelming to outright terrible with just a sprinkle of good here and there which only served to remind us how good the show USED to be and I didn't want to spend a whole thread bashing a show I used to really love and depress myself...


...but this is the BREAKING BAD final season/finale thread. If you haven't seen the show yet (A) Do it NOW. It's the best thing I've ever seen on television, and it's only 60 episodes. If you're a hound like I am when you get into something new, you can get caught up in a few weeks easily. and (B) Stop reading. I plan to post spoiler after spoiler here so, you know, you've been warned.

This show has proven time and again that it's the best thing on TV and I'm really sad to see it go, but it's going out ON TOP, that's for darn sure. Not only that, but they are ending it while it all still feels organic. VERY few of the show's 60 episodes have felt like filler material. There were a couple in season 3, but on the whole, the show has made wonderful use of its time and if anything, this ending almost feels a little too soon, and that's honestly a good thing.

LAST WARNING but well, there it is.

I haven't even started watching this show yet, but its on my list. I have a little more catching up to do on Boardwalk Empire, then I'm gonna go through all three Game of Thrones seasons, and I'm gonna start BB after that.

So I'll return to this thread in like a year or whatever.

I watch both BB and GoT, and they are both definitely worth watching.

Breaking Bad, however (once it hit its stride) is probably the best written show I have ever seen. Avoid spoilers of all kinds if you are going to watch it, because there are moments where you are literally on the edge of your seat wondering who will live or die. And the episode from two weeks ago was so good it left me shaking. Better suspense than most theatrical thrillers. At this point it is the only show i watch live rather than DVR, because i want to avoid spoilers.

GoT is a good show, based off great books. I'm normally not one to recommend a book over a movie, but in this case I would. That said, I do watch it because it is still one of the best shows on television.

Both of the last two episodes gave me CHILLS at various points. Literally. Chills. Media of any kind RARELY has that effect on me.

I started watching "Breaking Bad" when my brother started recording reruns off the Sundance Channel. Now I'm so hooked I'm going as Heisenberg for Halloween.

I think Walter White already ranks alongside Messrs. Kramden, Bunker, and Soprano as one of the greatest TV characters ever, and last week's episode (Hank dying, Walt being disowned by his family) was the biggest thrill ride I've seen since the final episode of "The Shield", it really left me breathless at the end. If this finale doesn't surpass that, it'll be a letdown.

It's kinda cool to get out of my own little world and watch something that my friends at work watch.

Edit: I had to watch it again because I missed Kevin Spacey the first time.

^SPOILERS above, folks. But yeah Reaper, I agree that the past couple episodes have been heart-pounders. That said, I don't think the finale has to (or will) outdo those...I think people are putting too much weight on it being the finale. I think it's going to be a depressing, slow-burn of an episode.


anyway, I'm amending my prediction for the finale.

Bryan Cranston's character wakes up in bed, realizes he had a very strange dream, and his son Malcolm tells him no more shrimp before bed.

"And then there was this old man in a wheelchair, but he never talked, he just rang a bell."

Solid finale.

VERY solid finale.

The best thing about that finale and this show as a whole, is that there are some surprising twists and turns, but nothing major...nothing DEPENDS on the swerve, the reveal, or the unanswered questions, those things just enhance the already existing story, and so what we're left with is something that plays out like a very rewatchable albeit long movie. One story, not a bunch of crazy twists trying to outdo what happened the season before.

Not as good as the "Ozymandias" episode, but still great, and I'd say everyone's stories ended as they should have.

Now let's see if Badfinger's "Baby Blue" gets a bounce like Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'"

We started watching this show last weekend and we are up to the tenth episode of Season 2. THe ending of that episode was down right badass when Walter told the guys not to come into his territory. I have a feeling things are about to get really awesome in this show.

Well we just finished the series about 20 minutes ago, and while I'm still processing my overall feelings of the show, the last 8 episodes were nothing short of fantastic. Jesse just ends up having the worst luck no matter how you slice it, but I really think there should have been That aside, the finale took me into the realm of the unexpected as it was not completely predictable and I am thankful for that. Like I said, I am not sure what my overall feelings of the show are right now, as I need time to process everything, but no matter what, it was definitely a damn good show and one worth seeing for sure. I'm glad I waited until now to watch it as I did not have to wait months on end to see the next season start.

I think the finale was only unpredictable because nobody would have predicted that in 2013/14, a show would actually wrap up just about every single loose plot thread nearly perfectly.

It's kinda crazy to think how they were able to satisfy just about everyone and not leave anything too open-ended.
