Checked this film out today and thought it was a blast. One of the most fun movies I've seen this year and definitely one of the best horror films of the year. Its a home invasion movie, with the twist that the invaders meet a seemingly unlikely match in one of the victims. A ridiculously inventive film... and its FUNNY. If you like home invasion horror and black comedy, I highly recommend it. The comedy is about as black and mean spirited as it gets, but it had me giggling throughout. Its very playful.
Highly recommended.
This is a GREAT midnight movie.

I didn't really care for the first half, but it won me over before it wrapped up. So many of the characters were so awful, I was rooting for the killers until half way!

Well aside from the heroine and maybe the parents, I really don't think the characters are supposed to be people you're rooting for. So when the movie cruelly (and hilariously) dispatches them, its not really going to tug at your heartstrings.
Also, that girl was by far the best female protagonist I've seen in any film this year.

I pretty much hated the first 20 minutes or so of this...and I mean, HATED. I know we're not really supposed to be rooting for a lot of these characters, but it was made nearly insufferable at times.
After that it certainly got better, and I definitely enjoyed it a ton. Wouldn't say I loved it though. It's solid, and I suppose in a world where I'm really starting to love or hate just about everything, it's almost refreshing to just see something and think "that was good." and nothing more, but I think I was hoping for a bit more given the good reviews (flip side, had I seen this when I originally planned - when I was given a free ticket to a preview screening that I wound up being unable to attend - I probably would have come away a touch more positive, so it does get points for winding up being better than its previews looked)

I was disappointed to discover this wasn't about Goldberg.
