Yep. I fell asleep as well... Mrs Klen7 was nice enough to wake me up and rewind the movie...I guess misery loves company. I remember liking a dragon at the end but the first 2/3rds were a bore.

I always understood why Alice in Wonderland was such a huge success despite nobody liking it: it hit at JUST the right moment to capitalize on the new 3D craze (it was the first major 3D release post Avatar, right?), it was directed by Tim Burton and starred Johnny Depp, both of whom remain very popular, and was a recognizable property.

It just happened that the movie was dull and barely tolerable.

I don't expect the sequel to do well. I can understand wanting to do one since it DID make a billion dollars, but just because a movie is financially successful doesn't mean anyone wants to see a Part 2. Just look at GINO. Back in 1998, it was the 3rd highest grossing movie of the year (beaten by only Armageddon and Saving Private Ryan). It easily made enough to warrant a sequel, but NOBODY wanted one so one wasn't made. I'm not sure how Disney found enough people in its focus groups to say "Yes, I would see Alice in Wonderland 2."

To be honest, I do not hate the movie. I enjoyed it, but the more I watched it, the more I saw its flaws. In fact, I love pieces of it (such as depp's reciting the Jaberwocky poem), but I got tired of it after a while, which is never a good thing for something so new. My favorite adaptations of the story are both The Matrix and the tv mini series called Alice.

Nevertheless, there is no need for there to be a sequel.

So...Alice in Wonderland 2 will be a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Maybe I need to re-think my stance of "no way ever in the history of the universe"

I haven't seen the original one yet, but judging from the trailer, it does look off beat. I may or may not check it out. :P
