I've always wanted to watch those films, but I never got around to it.

Not only am I sick of these jackasses song and dance, but they're remaking one of the very best Vincent Price films... one of my favorites too.
And I know it'll just be more Tim Burton/Depp (unfunny) comedy with Depp wearing white pancake makeup and will most likely be written by the same hack screenwriter that Burton can't seem to let go of. Burton's comments echo the ones he made about Dark Shadows also, which doesn't bode well. I could totally see this being another Dark Shadows, so f*cking gag me.
Everything about this is wrong. Right when I thought they were starting to do remakes right again, we get the news of this and Gremlins.

The timing of this announcement couldn't be any worse. Someone is doing somersaults underground.

Maybe we shouldn't freak out just yet.
I can't find another source for this information other than a Chicago Tribune article from over a year ago that just says its a "rumor."
Other than that, the only source we have to work from is "Naughty But Nice Rob" who I've never even heard of.

Never heard of it, but after last year, I am pretty much over the Burton/Depp team.
Of course, I'm also over both of them in general at the moment, and that is pretty bad considering Depp is one of my favorite actors.

You know what, I'm all for Depp playing Jack Sparrow as he clearly loves the characters. I just don't like how Disney is milking everything now with Depp. I mean, there is absolutely NO excuse for The Lone Ranger to be featuring Tonto in 90% of the trailers, on the poster, his name everywhere instead of Arnie, etc. If they wanted to do that, they should have called the movie Tonto with his sidekick the Lone Ranger. Then you have the Pirate movies, which again, great for Depp, but Disney has run the series into the ground with the same antics from the first movie, only altering character personalities just to suit a rushed plot.
I find Returns to be a terrible Batman movie. That movie is more like a Tim Burton movie that happens to have Batman in it. I mean, the circus gang were awesome, as is the music, but both of them scream Burton, not Batman. Besides that though, I hate Burton's Penguin to death, and the movie would have been fine had the villain just be Max Shreck, who was in charge of the circus gang (and obviously Catwoman, since she works with the Shreck plot).

As far as I know, the only Disney movie they did together was Alice.
They need to get off eachother's trains.
I don't mind directors using the same actors, but not if they are just gonna have the actor play pretty much the exact same character each time. That just makes both of them look lazy.
