I like all the classic slasher villains to be honest. I'm not sure if I'd include Leatherface and Pinhead as slashers. Leatherface is part of a whole group of killers, as is Pinhead... and Pinhead doesn't do any slashing either, and I don't think of Hellraiser films as slasher movies. Regardless, I love both characters. Candyman, is kind of in the middle. He's a slasher-type villain, but his films aren't really slasher films.

As far as favorites go, I have to say Michael gets my #1, mostly because the original Halloween is one of my favorite films and he's just so damn SPOOKY. Freddy in Nightmares 1 and 3, and Jason (both retarded woodsman and slow zombie incarnations) are great too. Jason has the most tragic backstory and Michael has the scariest backstory. And the thing I love about Freddy is that he isn't sympathetic at all, he's just f*cking MEAN (never liked when the series got too heavy on the comedy though- the REAL "Nightmare Trilogy" is part 1, 3, and New Nightmare to me). Never was a big Chucky guy though.

What about the lesser known slashers though? I feel like saying Michael or Jason or Freddy is almost too easy. What about Harry Wardon from My Bloody Valentine or Cropsy from the Burning? Cuz those guys are bad ass.

the best Hallowen-sequel one-two punch is the original film sequeled by Rob Zombie's sequel.

I've not seen all of the Halloween sequels, but I have seen a good deal of them and (in terms of the Myers films) I think Rob Zombie's sequel is the best one. Granted, it's the sequel of a remake, but pish posh. you could also say it's a remake of the first sequel  (in which case, it blows the "original" out of the water as the first Halloween sequel is a tiresome, boring affair)

I like Michael Myers(based mostly on the power of the original film) and Freddy.

Jason Voorhees has always been my #1 favorite slasher. His tragic background and all the different ways he kills his victims has never failed to entertain me.
