Looks like it will be his next film after Pac Rim

I really like the idea of this...I want this film and a Frankenstein film out of GDT in the near future. And I think a marvelous endcap to his career someday would be Mountains of Madness.

Anywho, anything GDT is attached to excites me so let's see if this actually gets filmed..

It's already been done brilliantly three times: the Disney film, Jean Cocteau's French film, and the more obscure Czechoslovakian version Panna a Netvor (check it out on Youtube).

But, any trepidation I have about there being another adaptation is diminished by the fact that this is Guillermo del Toro, our modern master of fantasy! I'm sure it will be brilliant.

The writing was on the wall for this for a while, but he's still the writer and producer.

He's a workaholic with a dozen different projects in various stages of development. He'll talk about something and people/the Internet will assume it's his next movie. And then when something we've never heard of, like Crimson Peak, gets the go-ahead people will get mad and think he's not trying with other, more touted projects like Hellboy 3 or Mountains of Madness, when really it comes down to financing.
