If you don't know about the UK sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf here's the lowdown: 8 seasons were produced from the late '80s to the end of the '90s. It features the adventures of Dave Lister (the last living human in the far future) and his companions, douche bag hologram Rimmer, eager to please robot Kryten, and the too-cool-for-school Cat (a humanoid who evolved from cats). They make their way through outer space in the enormous mining ship Red Dwarf where they are continually waylaid by monsters, time-space anomalies, and often their own ineptitude and character flaws (especially Rimmer's). A 3-episode series reuniting the cast (really a 1 hour special chopped up into three parts) aired a few years ago.

All these years later a full 6 episode series is being filmed (in front of a live audience) right now. Studio audiences are keeping tight-lipped about the series due to show-runner Doug Naylor making them pinkie swear at the beginning of every taping, but nevertheless the vague, non-spoilery reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

Well I will most certainly grab it on DVD when it comes out.
Hopefully it's a bit better than the Back To Earth "season" was.

I own all of Red Dwarf on DVD, and even have one of the books.
Been kinda looking for the other 2 books (Backwards & The Last Human) if there are more than that let me know.

I used to watch on PBS, though it was on kinda late and after the kinda lame Blakes Seven (IMO). Of course those annoying pledge drives made it even worse, since the show was only on for like 10-15 minutes at a time, before they broke away for the "Please give us money even though we get a lot from sponsors & DVD sales" breaks.

The first trailer is out. Really looks and feels like the early '90s episodes (except for everyone being 20 years older).
