In the first few Woody Woodpecker cartoons, he was seriously deranged, like Tex Avery's Screwy Squirrel taken to the nth degree. If this is the take on the character they plan on using, I'll be there! I loves me some insane 'toons...

Eh, I might take my nephew to see it if it looks good. Surprised how long it's been in development, to be honest.

I looked into Woody's eyes and... I'm not pressing play on that.

Getting more of a Bugs Bunny vibe than a Woody Woodpecker 'toon. Maybe it's the scenario???...

Now there's a movie with 'bargain bin' written all over it.

Just imagine the torturous path of production this movie took over the years where it was originally supposed to be a theatrical film but then the whole 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' style movie trend died and yet this movie was somehow still too far in the pipeline to kill so it was easier to just slash the budget and make it into a direct-to-video thing.

Geez, that looks astonishingly terrible. Like, this might become one of those legendarily awful movies like The Room or Plan 9...
I'm just stunned...

I haven't seen the Woody Woodpecker movie either on the screen or on DVD. I'm afraid that it won't get made.

I just watched this. Because I have a kid and I didn't want to watch Frozen for the 90th time. It might be better than the Emoji movie.

This is on Netflix now for those interested. I was surprised since I just recently saw the trailer pop up on YouTube.

I think this aired theatrically in certain territories where Woody is still quite popular.
Sorta like how those two Top Cat movies were made for a Latin American audience.
