It's hard not to post something about that plot point in Star Trek V without spoiling the movie. I could post a relevant Youtube video about it, but it's a big spoiler for the film, so I suggest you steer clear of Youtube and web searches for ST:V until you've seen the movie.

Make sure you two watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine before tackling Enterprise. You'll probably want to watch Star Trek: Voyager before ENT as well.

I'm a HUGE fan of the original series, but I dig TNG and DS9 as well. As far as the movies go, I like them all to varying degrees, though Final Frontier really pushes the limit of tolerance for me at times, and I wasn't exactly blown away by the J.J. Abrams film. *dodges rotten fruit/vegetables, rusty cans, etc.*
