For curiosity's sake, here are a couple screencaptures from a film that self-destructed this past weekend. We are talking about giving it a second try here again in a couple months, hopefully with better results:

It was basically a film noir/kaiju film mashup. I'll post more here once we start working on the reshoots later.

A little background:

The failure of this project was simply a matter of time - that is, we ran out. We were entered in a filmmaking contest in which we had a week to make a film, so we came up with something incredibly awesome (if totally daft) and planned it out as well as we could so that all filming would go as smoothly as possible. And then one of our key members turned out to be a total flake and ruined the whole thing. We booted her off the team and decided to make one last-ditch effort to make an entry in time (the due date is today) by scrapping the old project and coming up with an all-new idea that better suited our now more limited resources. And the idea we came up with was a mash-up of kaiju movies and film noir - awesome, right? We thought so, anyway. And we're pretty proud of the plotline we came up with, to be sure. But it was too little too late. We didn't get to the location in time to set up and leave us enough time to work with our actress, who had a prior engagement and was thus on a time limit. Even though she stayed an hour and a half over her own time limit for us, it wasn't enough. Alas.

To our flaky former-teammate: "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" you.

But the project left us with three really great ideas for future films, including this one, which we are going to start polishing up really soon so that we can re-shoot it sometime in the coming months.

At any rate, here are a few more screencaptures:

And maybe Josh can give you guys a brief synopsis of the plot without spoiling to much.

Gladly. :)

I play a hard-boiled detective who's telling a story about the strangest case he ever had–involving a series of attacks by a mysterious monster, freakish natural disturbances, and a "knockout of a dame," who visits his office one night and leaves a strange notebook.
