Special effects guru Phil Tippett has uploaded a teaser of his 1984 short film "Prehistoric Beast", to Youtube, in full 1080p HD, with the complete short to follow:
Some of you (other 80's kids) may remember this footage as being used in a 1985 CBS special titled "Dinosaur!", hosted by Christopher Reeve. It's some of the coolest dino stop-motion ever done, and it'll be great to see the complete short remastered. He's uploaded some other great stuff to Youtube, as well.

Phil Tippet is the man. I actually have that "Dinosaur!" doc with Chris Reeve on VHS. I grew up on that special.
This is truly incredible stuff.

Dinosaur! is awesome. I rented the video a few times as a kid.
Watched it on Youtube a few months ago as a matter of fact. Some of the most beautiful stop-motion ever commited to film.

I think I've seen this in school and/or at the American Museum of Natural History. I can't wait!

Man, this brings back some memories! I don't know where I remember it from, but I definitely remember it. Talk about an unexpected blast from the past (no pun intended

).

^^ I remember going into the theater at 9 years old to see the Empire Strikes Back Special Edition and being secretly terrified they were gonna replace all that wonderful stop motion with CGI. Luckily, the tauntaun showed up rather soon and alleviated my fear.
