Halloween 3 Appreciation Thread

Seriously, can somebody PLEASE tell me (other than the lack of Michael Myers) what everyone finds so off-putting about this film???

I took FOREVER to finally see it due to the constant comments I got of "don't bother", and when I finally did see it just TODAY, I thought "that's not that bad"

in fact, it's SO not bad that it's easily one of the better films of the Halloween film series...

sure, it doesn't fit in and stands out even more considering EVERY other film features Myers, but the original idea behind the "Halloween" series was to produce a different movie every year with a different story that took place/culminated on Halloween...not to create a new slasher series.

This movie finally put Halloween on that track and people backlashed simply because it didn't have The Shape???

Boo, I say. BOO.

Halloween 3 was the final decent movie in the series, IMO. I don't rate any of them that highly, and consider the original to be one of Carpenter's lesser films, but I respect this one for at least trying something different.

Unfortunately BEASTS is only on R2 but is cheaply bought on.

Just for brevity there is a review of the series . I don't completely agree with the writer's feelings about all the episodes, but it does give you an idea of what it's all about.

... and we're gonna ignore every movie except the original including Halloween 2 so Laurie isn't Michael's sister and it was all just random chance! Hell yeah!
