Looking at those trailers I have question: who says a true sci-fi American Godzilla film with aliens and giant robots wouldn't work? When you have stuff like this and Transformers I wonder why Godzilla needs to be grounded in reality. Why wouldn't aliens, space monsters or giant robots work as long as the movie is fun and still respects it's subject matter. The mainstream is never going to take the character seriously so why go all Dark Knight with the material?
