For fans of Let the Right One In here is its american remake.

New trailer just came out today and it looks very close to the original I just hope it has something different rather than just "hey no subtitles".

For fans? No thanks.

I have already seen the film and bought the DVD. I have no need to see it again with American actors.

that's my thought...if you're not going to do ANYTHING different other than some SMALL stuff (even though those small things change quite a bit about the story on a deeper level) then why bother???

that is one thing that I'll give to my recent viewing of The Uninvited/Tale of Two Sisters...The Uninvited is fairly sufficiently different...it's not better (it's not even really any good...though it's not really any bad either) but it tried SOMETHING

Twitchfilm has been having long, ongoing debates about the new movie. With much more commentary and emotion than any remake I can think of recently. is very positive, and though there's not much to it, just the I've seen is actually really well done.

I'm usually on the forefront of the hate of remakes, but this one might actually be worth giving a chance.

Stupid marketing people strike again. The tv trailers are absolutely stupid, undermining any sense of the "subtlety" the movie might actually have. They make it look like a run of the mill teeny slasher movie.
As for Let Me In, I'll see it, but I'm seriously expecting to be pretty bored by it considering that it doesn't sound much different from the original. I just hate going to see these remakes when I basically already own the same film (and in just about every case, the better film) at home.
I agree. When I saw The Grudge I was pretty bored as it basically copied the original Ju-On too much. The sense of fear and tension that Ju-On had was absent from The Grudge because I already knew what was gonna happen. With my ability to focus on the story absent, I instead found myself focusing on the lousy acting (Sarah Michelle Geller should have stuck to tv), and the American attempts to explain too much.
