UGH!

I can't stand this 3D fad - it's only making movies more expensive to watch, annoying, and kills the picture quality. To top all of it, I haven't seen a single movie that really made me think, "Wow, I'm glad they shot this in 3D! This looks amazing!" My opinion of Avatar, in particular, would probably be better if it was 2D - the 3D was a useless gimmick that worsened my viewing experience and made the whole thing just look fuzzy.

I can't wait until 3D dies. Again.

If you don't like it, then don't pay to see the 3D version (I don't know about other theaters, but mine is still showing all 3D movies along side 2D versions).

And if this happens, I'm especially going to make sure I skip the 3rd Batman film in 3D. No lame gimmicks during my Christopher Nolan viewing experience if you please.

My never shows any movies in 3-D, not even Avatar or Alice, and that's just the way I like it.

I'd rather see a return to authentic 65mm cinematography with 70mm prints, than all this 3D noise. Considering how stunning all the classic 65mm titles look when seen in 70mm, imagine how good films shot in that format with today's emulsions and lenses would look!

I think this is a bad move on WB's part. As evidenced here, many people are not fans of 3D. I'm in the camp of only liking it when it has a purpose. I saw Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D & loved it. Of course, it had so many references to the original 3D movies that IT MADE SENSE to be in 3D. I also saw Up in 3D & thought it was pretty neat. But I don't think seeing it in 2D (now that I have it on home video) really detracts anything from it. I doubt I'll see many more movies in 3D though, as my wife also complains that it hurts her eyes & gives her serious headaches. And unless it's something like Monsters vs. Aliens that really has a reason for me to want to see it in 3D, I don't feel the extra ticket price is worth it.

EDIT: I agree Joseph! Either that, or films shot with IMAX like those sequences of The Dark Knight. Of course, IMAX is just 70mm turned sideways. But that means the frame is (roughly) 70mm tall, instead of wide! (making it significantly wider).

this is beyond upsetting...a 3D movie already costs me $13 per ticket...it IS incentive to not see a single thing in 3D though...

although it really sucks because most IMAX movies are now shown exclusively in 3D and that means if I want to see something in IMAX, I have to see it in 3D as well and pay the extra money...

I have a problem with that in general though...3D can be a MAJOR pain in the ass and what if I just want to go to the IMAX???

I LOATHE (and I mean LOATHE) 3D...I live LIFE in 3D, I don't need a crappy headache inducing representation of it in movies...

:D I'm looking forward to watching Batman 3 and the new Godzilla in good old-fashioned 2-D.
