On a related note, there is also a King Kong play coming up called
King Kong Live on Stage.
They are building a 23 foot Kong for the production.

It's good to see Kong keeping his career alive by venturing into other media.
If only Godzilla could do the same, but as we all know he enjoys his privacy and is probably enjoying his haitus.

Well the ride is now open. Here is a review on it.

Sounds kinda cool, but the fact its too short seems to be a letdown.
Ironic isn't it? People complained the movie was too long, and now there are complaints the ride is too short.

Dread Central has another review for the ride, plus a introduction from Jackson, a BTS video and a sneak peak at the ride.

So, as is expected, it'll be based on KK '05, huh? Those giant bugs have been singled out as being especially scary for a decade now, and if they're a part of the ride I assume it'll have a certain 'haunted house' element.

I was on the King Kong ride the last time I was at Universal Tours Orlando. I see that there a new version of this ride there.

I guess it's inevitable, as - correct me if I'm wrong - with Kong's odd sort of position in terms of copyright every company is best off sticking to their own unique version.

A run through of the ride:
Animation on video screens, and actual animatronics! Sure, it basically repurposes the entire animated sequence from the previous Kong 3D ride, but with a big Skull Island set and some animatronic creatures I think a better mood is set, no?

Even if we can't understand to what is being said, this is still
so freakin neat!
In my mind, I had something very similar, but instead of Tsuburaya, it is 13 year old Ray Harryhausen at Grauman's Chinese Theater in 1933. That story has always fascinated me, and if I had the means and know how, I would love to have done a short film recreation of that even (and add some fanatical elements as well). Perhaps someone, someday will do just that!
