My podcast co-host saw a critic's screening of this movie tonight. Said it was pretty bad. But the reason I'm really posting this is that he said Tadanobu Asano (
Ichi the Killer, Mongol, Zatoichi, Vital, Thor, etc.) is like the second biggest character in the movie... yet, I bet none of you guys knew he was even in the movie because he's literally NOWHERE to be found in the marketing and trailers... yet Liam Neeson has like 4 minutes of screen time (he's pretty much a cameo). Why is America so racist? Seems like Asian actors have it pretty bad over here... I know black, Hispanic and middle eastern actors have a hard time getting non-stereotype specific acting roles also, but there don't seem to be any A-list Asians (and if any of them deserve it, it is Asano). Anyone that's seen Asano act knows he is amazing and he is BEGGING to be a breakout star. He's huge in Japan and he could easily be huge over here. He was good in
Thor, but horribly underused. .
Knowing he has such a big role in this film actually makes me wanna check it out, however bad it may be.
Speaking of which, I find the fact that f*cking KAKIHARA is now in a movie with Rihanna to be incredibly surreal.
