This one I've been following for some time now. It's a film about a group of people on a plane being terrorized by a gigantic flying Lovecraftian-inspired tentacled monster. The very early "demo" teaser was released before the film was even shot and doesn't feature real footage from the film or even the same stars that ended-up in it but gives an idea of what to expect and now the first real teaser trailer has dropped that reveals the giant monster of the film in all it's awesome glory!!:

Both plus more details here:

Looks like it could be a fun movie.

A pet peeve of mine though: At least from the trailer I'm not really sure how this is even slightly Lovecraftian outside of having a monster with tentacles. In that case I suppose you could say that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is Lovecraftian. Or Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus for that matter.

But it has plenty in common with a really great horror story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle called "".

Now is a Lovecraft movie. hehehe

Since Lovecraft is public domain, pretty much anything can have the guy's name on it regardless of how little it has to do with his actual stories. It is merely a selling point.

With that being said I am completely stoked about this movie, the trailer really had me pulling one of these :o . The idea of a giant monster in the clouds is such a completely original idea, so many times have they come from under the sea this is very refreshing way to pull off a giant monster movie. I am officially on board!

You are correct on all Lovecraftian counts Mysterio. I think maybe Flame was just having a short attention span day.

And I guess I typed the second part of my comment in invisible ink (that this movie has a lot in common with a story by Arthur Conan Doyle called Horror of the Heights).* Oh and there's the Shat 1974 movie "Horror at 37000 Feet" plus to a lesser degree the Gremlin episode of Twilight Zone (also starring Shatner). So no, it's not really original. But then what is these days?

For an aviatory teen killemup movie it looks pretty fun.

*I'm having fun guys, not being argumentative. And yes! Go read Horror of the Heights! And if you don't have time to read it, multitask and listen to the audio file at librivox, that's why I put the in there.

A Lovecraftian touch to anything is always welcome, if it's done with some authority. :D
