No need for another Friday The 13th?!? Of course there is! There will ALWAYS be need for another! :D That's like saying there's no need for another Godzilla or Gamera movie!

I'll be interested in knowing what the "plot" will be. This will be the THIRTEENTH Friday film!!!

The original Gamera movies were never masterpieces, but this post-Kaneko trend of savagely tearing the '60s and '70s films apart because they aren't the Heisei trilogy is sad. Really sad.

The older films and the newer films are as different as night and day. I don't really think it's fair to compare or play favorites, especially since the original Gamera series were outright childrens films that never pretended to be anything else. I think the Kaneko films are fantastic, and definitely blow away most Godzilla movies made in the past 30 years. But I'm not going to slight the Showa movies because of them. Isn't there room to enjoy a variety of styles and approaches?

IMHO saying, " It was fine when I was a child, as I did not know any better, and that was the 70s, but now, I just cannot accept it" just seems like a very harsh, close-minded thing to say considering so much of the genre we enjoy is aimed at kids.

Thanks Legion...aptly stated...and my thoughts exactly
It's kinda like what happened with Watchmen in the comics world...now everything has to be dark and gritty there but sometimes...well sometimes you just want Bat-mite or Krypto or Peter Porker
