I don't know how this would really affect anything...it's rather unexpected though for sure

I am not sure of this as of yet. Kind of makes me wonder if they will make a Marvel video game with Disney characters in it.

Wait, what!

Maybe this means we'll get some good comics from Marvel again.

I'd just like to point out how awesome Dark Horse Comics is (though maybe if some movie company bought them we could finally get a film version of Concrete).

From /film:
[quote]There are still existing deals in which other studios hold the big screen rights to certain characters.
But after those deals expire, Disney “want[s] to be sole distributor of these films.â€

I'm concerned because I get the feeling Disney is going to interfere in Marvel's creative processes. They will want to make the characters more "kid friendly".
Like
"No No No. Why does the Hulk have to smash an entire army when he gets mad? Can't he just walk away?"
"Why does Wolverine have to cut people with his claws. Little boys might get the wrong idea.
"This Punisher character kills people!! He's too violent for our audience." etc. etc.
The level of violence in Marvel's books and films will probably suffer because of Disney's desire to market more towards younger boys. (Can you see another Hulk vs Wolverine style animated movie getting made again with that level of violence with Disney interfering?) I could see Marvel having to do away with their Max line of comics (comics aimed at more mature readers). Or be forced to put some of their smoking hot super heroines like Ms. Marvel in more appropriate costumes so young girls don't get the wrong ideas.
Then the inevitable crossover is going to happen. You know Hannah Montana will pop up in a Spider-Man 4, while the next X-Men film will have Wolverine on the couch watching a Mickey Mouse movie. etc etc
Maybe I'm over reacting. If Disney doesn't start making Marvel's films for them and lets Marvel do their own movies (Marvel Films) acting only as a distributor, and they only act in terms of supplying Marvel with the kind of distribution and resources that only a company like Disney can offer. Then this could be a good thing.
But I really don't know where this is going to go.
