GI Joe Possible Spoilers

Postby Dr Kain » Sat Aug 08, 2009 6:40 pm

It sucked!!

Okay, it had some good moments, but overall, it was pretty bad. The action scenes were good, but some of the effects were blah. I did like the portrayal of some of the characters, but the ending was a complete let down and ruined the movie as a whole (We are Cobra... and now we are in jail, WTF??!!). Not just that, but some of the characters really got gyped of screen time, such as Covergirl. Why did she even need to be in it? I did like some of the dialog though, especially with Ripcord when he was in the Accelerator Suit (getting hit by a car was hysterical), and Christopher was excellent as Destro, but other than the names and a few homages to the original comics, the movie was just another generic army vs terrorist movie instead of a GI Joe movie. Oh, I did like how Cobra Commander was a genius though, but being Baroness' brother was stupid.

This film was amazing. Everything that Transformers should have been, fun.

It sucked? OMG WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING?

But seriously, I actually saw this. A friend of mine really wanted to see it and had nobody to see it with, so I was pretty much dragged kicking and screaming to this thing. But you know what? It wasn't NEARLY as bad as I thought especially after the bad buzz and post-production controversy.

It was RETARDED AS HELL, but keeping in mind that I'm TWICE THE AGE of the intended audience, I thought it was a fun enough action movie. I haven't seen the new Transformers (and never will) but this movie was fun and funny without resorting to pot brownies, ebonics, and dangling balls to get its laughs. This movie FELT like a retarded, senseless Saturday morning cartoon show for children, but that's ok... you know why? Cuz its based on a retarded, senseless Saturday morning cartoon show for children.

By the way, Sienna Miller as a brunette might just be the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen and makes Megan Fox look like half eaten roadkill.

And what was with the flashbacks every 5 minutes? That really got tiresome. Still, this piece of junk was WAY better than Wolverine.

PS- The "Double Bubble" product placement has the "oddest product placement of the year" award.

It was bad, but I wasn't as disappointed as I was by Revenge of the Fallen.
I thought it was a lot of fun, and I began to enjoy it simply as a bad film.
Also, Baroness was nice to look at, and Snake Eyes was probably the best part of the movie.

Did anybody else like Cobra Commander's voice better before he put on the translucent mask thingy?

I haven't seen this one yet. I might go see it tomorrow with my little brother since he wants to see it. I kinda wanna see it, but I'm not at all hyped as I am for District 9.
