Thought about starting something like this, kinda like the "Talkback" threads in the Godzilla series started by lhb412. I call this one "The Nostalgic Zone". Instead of Godzilla, we could chat about the old movies which, hopefully, we come to know and love! :D

Well, shall we start. I don't know about others here, but I truly enjoyed the Evil Dead Series with Bruce Campbell. I know, they are stupid, and cheesy and whatnot, but I love them. They make me laugh! From the first Evil Dead to The Army of Darkness. Not sure if there are any more than that, but I do know that the character Ash appears in comics and whatnot as well. My favorite would probably be the The Army of Darkness, I just love all the cheesy and hilarious goodness it gives! :D Discuss whether you dislike or like this film, it don't matter! :)

The first Evil Dead movie is actually really scary, and then the next two go for the horror-comedy thing...

not sure which I prefer, it all REALY depends on my mood, but I find myself watching Army of Darkness more than the others, as you said, the campiness is just pure gold!

I love all of the Evil Dead films, though my favorite depends on my mood. I think of Evil Dead as straight horror, Army of Darkness as straight comedy, and Evil Dead 2 as one of the few really effective combinations of both genres. All in all it's just an extremely fun series.

To be honest I was initially a little let down by how the last two films veered into comedy territory, but over the years I've come to appreciate them a lot more. Sam Raimi's style is really an acquired taste, so I can understand how some people don't care for his work, but his best films strike what I consider to be a near-perfect tongue-in-cheek balance.

I have to disagree GKiller referring to the Feast movies as "classics" though. :? They're not quite my cup of tea. I'll admit that I've not seen 2 & 3, but the first one was just...I dunno, kind of obnoxious. Heck, as I recall one of the judges on Project Greenlight (Wes Craven, maybe?) was actually kind of mad that Feast won funding through that show. Oh well, takes all kinds.

I have exceedingly particular tastes when it comes to what I perceive to be horror-comedy films. I've honestly only ever seen a handful (Evil Dead 2 & 3, Brain Dead/Dead Alive, and Shaun of the Dead) that I liked very much, so I'll freely admit that it may be an issue with me rather than the Feast movies themselves.

I love the Evil Dead series! I seen all of them and own the Evil Dead: Ultimate Edition with 3 discs and a poster as well the regular THX edition of Evil Dead 2. In terms of enjoyment, I watch 2 and Army of Darkness more than Evil Dead 1, but if I'm in a serious mood but want some dark humor and not a overload like 2, I watch Evil Dead 1.
