Why do they just not say it isn't happening. They have been telling us tehre will be a new MK movie for over 10 years now.

Isaac Florentine directed the fairly crappy Ninja last year...although to be fair, it was a really FUN film...so as long as you aren't a die-hard "Mortal Kombat needs to be treated with UTMOST respect and be serious" person, then maybe he is the right guy for the job


i still maintain though that the original Mortal Kombat film is possibly the best video game to movie adaptation ever


I mean, they made a workable, worthwhile story with great action sequences and interesting fights out of a game that almost literally had no story...

I dunno, making Mortal Kombat of all things "realistic" kinda sucks out the imagination and fun if you ask me. I liked it more when it was human fighters vs freaks from another plain of existence and not this Batman: Arkham Asylum rip off. I mean, what if they made a Harry Potter movie where the kids just went to a normal school and the "magic" was just a result of a drug they took or something? I don't get the need for everything to be realistic, and this is no exception. I realize the old Mortal Kombat movie sucked and the second movie was one of the worst things ever, but at least it didn't turn MK into something it wasn't.
And that's not even getting to the awful acting and dialogue. I don't know why this thing has set the geek world ablaze, but like most things that get love on the internet... I just don't get it.

That "trailer" was nothing more than a demo reel so that they could pitch the idea of a new MK to WB.
