The Original Friday the 13th Series

The original series consists of the first eight films, which were produced by Paramount. Do not post in this thread if your going to just put up some lame ranking system without any actual opinions.

Friday the 13th - Very small in scope when compared to the others of the series. Even though Tom Savini does some impressive special effects for the film, most of the kills are fairly standard and uninteresting. The big reveal of the killer is pitiful, because it essentially turns out to be the random character who shows up near the end of the film to “aidâ€

I'm going to give my thoughts on all of them.

Friday the 13th - Not a bad movie, and I liked how it turned out the mother was the killer. The death scenes were kind of lame though, but I guess that is only natural considering it was all from an old lady. I give it 3/5.

Part II - It had some cool deaths, but the movie overall was bad. 1/5.

Part III - It was pretty good, and I like the death scenes from the punks in the farm house. The 3D was nothing more than a distracting gimmick though. HOwever, I still give it a 3/5.

The Final Chapter - Final my ass!! However, I did like it, and I liked how one of the characters was there looking for his sister, who I believe was shown killed in a previous movie. I liked the ending too. 3.5/5.

A New Beginning - I liked the twist at the end, but the ending itself ruined the entire movie when it was assumed he killed the psychologist at the end, but none of that seemed to have happened in the next movie. 3/5.

Jason Lives - This one is my favorite of the bunch, as it added on an ongoing theme, even though this is where the series started to get supernatural, but at least it was not as bad as this one. I liked the concept that everyone is trying to hide what happened. I give it 4/5 stars.

The New Blood - I have no idea what you mean by Carrie rip-off, but this movie sucked. This is where Jason truly turned supernatural, thus bringing an end to an interesting character until Michael Bay's remake brought him back to his roots. 0/5.

Jason Takes Manhattan - Overall, the movie is terrible, but I do like the change of setting. HOwever, I found the boat scenes to be far better than the scenes in NYC, just because it was more confined. The ending made no sense, but then again, the series really should have ended with 4, and let Tommy become the new Jason if they wanted to continue on. 2/5.

Jason Goes to Hell - Except for Sam Raimi leaving his Necronomicon in Jason's house, this movie was dreadful and had one of the worst concepts ever. The death scenes weren't even that great either. After seeing it though, I at least understand where the Freddy vs Jason idea came from. .5/5.

Freddy vs Jason - Now this movie was fun to watch. The dialog that comes out of Freddy's mouths fits so well to the silence of Jason. Plus I always love watching the black girl talk crap to Freddy, only to be mauled by Jason in an instant. 4/5.

Jason X - Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, at least it had some cool death scenes... -5/5.

Friday the 13th Remake - Excellent movie that kept the 95% of the story natural. It had a lot of suspense, some really awesome death scenes, and the audio was fantastic. Oh yeah, a little bit of pointless trivia, but the dude that plays Trent is the same actor that played Trent in the first Transformers movie, making some wonder if they take place in the same universe. :D I give this movie a 4.5/5.

I guess this thread is based on my dislike of the remake.

Friday the 13. 3/5 stars
This movie is not scary, but it set the paced for the sequel. The kills were ok, but the ending I love it.

Friday the 13 Pt.2 4/5 stars
This is the favorite of mine in the series. There was no ending to the movie, it leaves without knowing what happen to Paul and Jason. I find that creepy.

I love Crazy Ralph, he should at least be in every movie.

Friday the 13 Pt.3 3/5 stars
I consider this one of the best behind the part 2. This movie was suppose to come full circle with the first two if you look at the ending. I believe Jason is becoming supernatural based on that ending.

Friday the 13 Final Chapter. 2/5
Yea right !!!!!!! I love the chicks and the kills.

F13: New Beginning 2/5 stars
I felt cheated. Jason’s ghost was more interesting than the “thirdâ€

I only seen the remake that came out this year and the original that's made in 1980. I dunno, I'm not a big slasher fan but the remake characters annoyed the heck out of me and I felt the movie series itself is too predictable.
