Can they stop f*cking around and release this on DVD already? I'd love for a special edition blu-ray with both versions... and a commentary with Barker and Cronenberg would be amazing.
And in case nobody's done it yet, here is the petition that the group are working on getting to Mill Creek.

UPDATE: Apparently Morgan Creek, who own the film have come to an agreement with Barker to release the film if it can make the money to pay for the costs. Currently, it looks like the only money it is getting is from the special screenings. They should set up a kickstarter campaign or something.

Cleaning up the workprint footage to anything vaguely resembling blu-ray standard will be a huge amount of work though, considering that it currently looks like this: http://youtu.be/CX0-AlytIXY
I suspect that expectations will need to be tempered for what they'll be able to achieve. Rather like the blu-ray of the fully restored Metropolis, where the most recently found footage is so damaged it looks like it's being viewed through a hurricane, just being able to see the complete work in some form will have to be enough.
