Everyone always whines about "another remake" but take a SECOND and look at the people involved. Shane Black is a good director. Even if I don't really care to see another Predator film, I trust Black to make an entertaining film, so I'm sorta kinda in.

Why are we having the remake conversation on Predator? It's an established franchise and it was just a matter of time before we got another film. I would prefer a new direction rather than continuing the story of "Predators" but there are no events that occurred in the previous films that would stop a stand alone film from "reintroducing" the creature without contradicting the previous entries. I only see this is as good news... Now if I misunderstood and they are doing a straight remake of Predator, i'd probably be annoyed at the missed opportunity

I thought they were going to make a sequel to Predators first Oh well. I wonder if they going to go with a roided out cast like in the original? I'd like to see the Rock take on a predator. He has charisma and muscles, I'd just wish he'd be a little grittier than he normally is. My second choice (or hell put him in along side the Rock) is my go to action star Karl Urban. My third choice, even though he's already replaced Arnold in Conan, is Jason Momoa. While Conan may have sucked, the dude is a legit actor and has the muscles for it.

The one thing I am tired of when it comes to modern day action movies is that actors now have to be "realistically cut" like in the Borne movies etc.

I'm thinking its Predator 4, though i'd be surprised if they expand on Predators rather than going back to basics.

Except Predators makes all of those not canon.

Honestly, I've never understood the point of AvP. You have the Predators, who like to sit in the shadows and wait for their prey to appear. Then you have the Xenomorphs, who like to sit in the shadows and wait for their prey to appear. In this match up, the loser is the one that gets bored first.

Plus, crossover movies to me always seem to be a last ditch effort to make as much money as possible on two franchises that they are completely out of ideas on. That is why Freddy vs Jason got made. And then both franchises were followed up by remakes many years later.

Okay, now that little bit of info makes me a bit more interested.. I griped the idea of a remake, but he answered my prayer and the world of PREDATOR is once again gonna be explored... FINALLY!!

I think that's one of the reasons I enjoyed PREDATORS, was because it added to the Predator world a bit.
