They also mixed fact and fiction, making it all the more deceiving.
Sorry, I'm done rambling about not getting the Mimic director's cut... its just that we've waited so long... hopefully one day the Weinsteins will stop being douchebags and just let Guillermo release it. I can tell when watching the theatrical Mimic that it would have been amazing had they not butchered the hell out of it.

With Cronos coming out later this year I decided to acquire GDT's other films so I'll have the full set (so, Blade II and Mimic).
Got Blade II used at Moviestop, the two disc set with special features (since a Guillermo del Toro commentaries are worth the price of admission). Interesting movie. Nothing too special with the story, but Guillermo clearly had fun with the visuals; the Reapers are cool creatures and there is the old Nosferatu type character. There are a few moments when real GDT spirit shines through and you have, say, the Ron Perlman character's rivaly with Blade.
Though when it all comes down to it, it was Hellboy practice.
Ordered Mimic on amazon (along with the last two seasons of Red Dwarf, which reminds me: loved seeing Danny John Jules is Blade II).
...oh, and I saw that third Blade on cable last year. Ouch. I thought X-MEN 3 was bad.

I've never seen Cronos? Should this be on my Christmas list?
