Unbreakable is the best thing that guy produced. I don't really like Shyamalan at all but I dig Unbreakable and I don't think it needs a sequel.

I think the movie had good enough legs to stands on its' own, it's just that, after "The Sixth Sense", people expected that sort of stuff from him.

It's a shame, really, but ghost movies can take you so far....

An "Unbreakable" sequel would've been great, since Willis had, at the end of the film, established his superhero persona just as he'd planned, and Jackson's "Mr.Glass" had become an official "supervillain" . I think in due time, he could go back and make it, though it'd be a huge risk on his part.

Now with him doing Avatar:TLE, that might change....

Thanks to this thread I just rented the DVD and watched it last night. I enjoyed it, but my wife classified it as "unpleasant." We both agreed it was very slow-paced and "low tension."
I liked it because you never really knew whether Dunn had any special "powers" or was just very lucky and had really good intuition. Sure, we saw him bench press 350 pounds, which is of course amazing for a guy who apparently doesn't work out at all, but it's certainly well within the limits of human strength. I think the record is about 1,100 pounds right now. Then again, it seemed that he could keep on going...but we don't know. Which was cool.

As presented in the film, his "touch somebody and see the bad stuff" power certainly seems supernatural. But as far as being "unbreakable," we never really see direct proof of that physically (i.e., getting shot, hit by a car, falling of a building, etc., and suffering no ill effects). Which was also very cool, and built a lot of tension...particularly when his son was going to "test" him.

A sequel or two? Sure, I'll go see them, just to see what happens next.

Hey you know, I don't get sick either. If I get a cold, I'll feel sniffly for maybe 24 hours. I've never broken a bone. I've never even been sick enough to call out of work my entire life.

Maybe I'm a superhero, all I need is a yellow windbreaker.

Except that one time I had bad middle eastern food. Falaffel is my weakness.

I had no idea he directed it either. Amazing ad campaign despite how crappy the movie looks!

I think it's pretty much in agreement among the majority that this film along with The Sixth Sense where his best films. After that, most of them have ranged from overrated/mediocre(Signs) to complete and utter fecal matter. At this point in his career, I'm not really sure how he keeps getting high budget work, or how famous actors are still willing to work with him, considering his "quality" of work in the last decade.

Anyways, here is Honest Trailers covering his most recent turf, After Earth:

As well as the Last Airbender

Also, Half in the Bag did an awesome dismantling of this film (and of the director himself):

Also, ScreenJunkies asks,"What is the worst M Night Shyamalan film????!"

We should be thankful he is not working on the Godzilla film...
