I wish Gondry would get back to working on his own Master of Space and Time and ditch this. Oh well... I guess the guy needs some money. Like Spielberg says "you do one for them, then one for you"
I also really don't buy Seth Rogen's comments on how he's such a big fanboy. If that were true he'd respect the material more and not cast himself as the lead. He's turned it into another vanity project for himself. I never liked this guy and I'm not even a fan of the Green Hornet, but his behavior about this really makes me mad. You don't just crap all over an old and beloved property because you have a huge ego. I think its obvious now that Stephen Chow left the production probably because he is a real fan and didn't agree with Rogen's "Superbad" approach to the material. When he was on board, this thing had a chance and as wonderful a director as Gondry is, he won't be able to save it. If the movie turns out good, I'll gladly eat my words, but I'm not holding my breath.
