James Cameron’s AVATAR in IMAX 3D

Postby mr.negativity » Thu Nov 06, 2008 5:22 pm

From /film:
[quote="Peter Sciretta "]20th Century Fox has officially announced that James Cameron’s Avatar will also be released in IMAX 3d (as if anyone didn’t already expect this) simultaneously on December 18th 2009. The one surprising thing about the announcement is the following quote from James Cameron:

[quote]“The larger field of view and powerful surround sound of an IMAX(R) theatre will completely immerse the audience in a way that cannot be experienced anywhere else.â€

I think Cameron will make the movie decent. So far he directed many great flicks including Titanic which won 11 Oscars which ironcally so did The Return of the King

I can already see a lot of people flocking to see Avatar in December and walking away pissed because it's not like the cartoon.

Not all big name adaptations are bad. And no, your not being a dick whatsoever. You do have reason to your logic. Most big names do suck on film like the Tomb Randier or that recent Dragonball Evolution movie. As long they could make the story fresh or add nice elements and cast the right actors, get a good composer, etc I think it could work out.
