DVD comes out on May 10th. Nice.

And while we're discussing all things Romero, its been announced that some time this year, Night of the Living Dead will be re-released to theaters in glorious remastered black and white for the 40th anniversary... Awesomeness.

And also to close out my comment here, I found this interesting quote from Romero about the double meaning of Diary of the Dead (and how it not only mocks mainstream media, but indie media like youtube documentaries and blogs):

"Is it information or is it opinion and perspective and all that? I wish it was pure information. What the internet’s value is you have access to information. But you also have access to every lunatic that’s out there that wants to throw up a blog and anybody with a radical idea, if it sounds half way reasonable, is all of a sudden going to get millions of followers and that’s the thing that’s scary to me. If Hitler was alive today, he wouldn’t have to go into the town square ever. Throw up a blog. Bing, he’s got it. If he sounds half way reasonable, forget about it. People are so used to trusting what comes over that box whether it was the old console TV, now it’s the telephone, wherever it comes from.

I think people are so used to listening to that "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" and they would rather have someone tell them how to think than do their homework and figure out what they really think about whatever the topic is and that to me is the scary thing. It’s always easy for people to be influenced. I guess if I were to indict anyone, it’s us, it’s us out here for not paying enough attention, not doing homework and just being willy nillies. It’s easier to look up from your beer and say ‘oh, you hear what that guy said? I happen to agree with that.’ "

Are you coming to Chicago for Flashback Weekend? They went all-out with the NOTLD reunion.[/quote]

I'm going. Actually in February I went out to Dallas for the NOTLD 40TH Tour kick -off at the Texas Frightmare Weekend and met Ol' Pal Jim Cirronella from Club Daikaiju down there. We shared a room and set up a dealers table with all kinds of Living dead stuff from the Romero flicks. Man .... One of the best weekends of my life! Partying with all the NOTLD, Dawn of The Dead, Day, Land, and Diary cast members all weekend really was something else and I promised A couple of them Pizza when they come to Chicago. This Flashback weekend is going to be special cuz it's also the original PHANTASM reunion!!! I hope you guys are considering this show.
