I found something interesting today. I'm sure that some of you know the film company called "Asylum". They make b-movie rip-offs from big Hollywood movies, one of their rip-offs was "Transmorphers".
Now they make a Rip-off from "Cloverfield" which will be released on 15th January on DVD. The interesting thing is that the movie takes place in Tokyo and the Monster seems to have big tentacles.

Here is the DVD Cover

And here is the Trailer

Maybe that movie will be big b-movie fun. I'm really interested to see which movie will be better, the b-movie "Monster" or the Hollywood movie "Cloverfield".

Sorry for my bad english

I've been in communication with one of the people who wrote the first draft of the script for MONSTER. True fun fact: they actually put references in the script that was designed to imply that the monster was Cthulu without every actually coming right out and saying so but the executive producer removed all that stuff from the shooting script because, and I quote, "he didn't get it."

Welcome to Hollywood, folks. It's not just the megabudget producers who don't get it.

The best part of the poster is the big "copyrighted" watermark on the bottom.

"Don't rip off our ripping off!"

It would've been interesting, to me anyway, if it was something other than a giant squid. Really, how the #@ck is a squid gonna cause all that damage!?!?!?

Even I, with little production value, could come up with something better than that....and I'm not even considered an "indy director" yet. :?

I bet if this was Gino, they'd pop out with Zarrkor(if you know what I'm talking about, you get mad props....and a cookie. :D) ....:P

......btw, Transmorphers sucked ass, and if it's any consolation to anyone, it was totally unrelated to Transformers in any way....which is the only positive thing I can say about that. :P

OT: Now that I think about it, with all the CG goodness that was D-War, can't the director remake Yonggary properly?

there was a gino ripoff a fox tv movie called "gargantuain" . and if i rember it came out the day of or the day before gino got released. ....so ripping off potential blockbusters os far from new.
