MST3K Returns!

So, I've always "liked" MST3K (figured this was the best place to put this) my uncle always watched it on Comedy Central and then I briefly remember seeing it a bit during the SciFi years...

you have to understand at the time though, I was young....during the LAST year of its scifi run I was 14...so while I remember a small small smattering of episodes (Manos, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, the Godzilla episodes, a couple Gamera episodes, some hercules episode, and time chasers) I don't remember MOST of the series as a whole...

I plan on rectifying that soon...I think I'm getting one or more of the DVD collections for Christmas and from there, I hope to get more and re-discover this show...(the only ones i've seen relatively recently are the 2 Godzilla episodes, Manos and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians)

Volume XVII was released today and Shout! were cool enought to release the episode list for the next set just to make us fans happy!

"Beast of Yucca Flats" is the only one I don't have in the upcoming set. The others are on my old VHS, and I have to phase those out eventually.

Gonna get the current set eventually, I'm just in the middle of moving right now.

Well, Vol. XVII has been released and despite a few tape glitches in the master tapes for Lost Continent and Yucca Flats it's another winning set (just a few visual hiccups in those episodes, not really a big deal since the movies they watch are often in pretty bad shape anyway).

Oh, and as for Volume XIX:

Oh good grief, if the Gypsy figure is that big the set itself is gonna be huge. Think we'll get a Cambot figure with Volume 22?

Did anyone catch the RiffTrax Live! showing of Reefer Madness on Thursday? And is anyone going to see the encore performance on Tuesday?

I saw the Thursday showing... Oh man, that movie is freaking insane. The scary thing is, the shorts they showed before the movie were even crazier.

Oh yeah, that was a fun show. I'm sorry they didn't pick up on the Philip Morris sign in a store window at some point -- who did the most to outlaw marijuana in the first place, hmmmmm? (Well, according to Jello Biafra anyway)

And yeah, those shorts were insane. To tie it into the other post-MST3K project, I thought the grass mask that kid made looked like a statue from "Danger on Tiki Island"

Got all three of the Cinematic Titanic Live DVDs released this past year for Christmas. I've only watched the first so far (East Meets Watts), but after seeing it I hope they never go back to studio releases. Their game is raised in the live performance. The energy is just so much better.


Also got the Rifftrax Live: Christmas Shorts-stravaganza as a gift. If you haven't seen this yet then get it now. It's the best post-MST thing ever.
