Just the other day it was announced that a Flash movie was back up again. Specifically that it was going to be a spin off from the JLA movie. I'm not quite sure what to think about the spin-off idea, I guess I'd like it more if I was more impressed with what I've been reading about the JLA movie. Right now the JLA movie is sitting on the same level as Abram's Star Trek movie - I.E. I'll probably rent it if I watch it, rather than see it in the theater.
SPOILER ALERT!! Applies to both the JLA movie and the Flash movie *highlight to read*
In the JLA movie, early reports say the Flash is going to be Barry Allen. Kid Flash will also be in the movie
In the JLA movie, Barry Allen will die.
The Flash movie will feature Wally West [presumably just getting used to taking on the Flash mantle]
I'm definitely glad nothing ever came of that Jack Black as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern movie. The only way Jack Black could conceivably ever end up in a GL movie is he spent 6 hours in make-up getting transformed into G'Nort. And even then Jack should only show up for a few seconds at most...

I think when it was a project for Jack Black he was going to be a completely new character, and it would have been the "anyone" can get a ring type of thing, with the comedy ensuing because of that.
Thankfully, that is all over and done with now.
