A third movie would be absolutely awesome, I've been hoping for one for years. I don't mind if it's animated, especially after seeing how great TMNT turned out. Any other sources on this news though? Seems very April Fools to me.

I always thought they'd be able to adapt themselves to a new script - using their age and physical factors as a base....you know, kinda like Stallone did with "Rocky Balboa".
I imagined that they could come back one last time, fight the ultimate battle, then retreat into the sunset leaving the fans happy. Then, have some sequel where someone else picks up the flag and continues onwards from there, with one of the originals coming back to mentor them.....just not "Extreme Ghostbusters". I mean we have perfectly capable young actors who can take over for Murray, Ramis, Ackroyd, and Hudson....and they can have the cartoon Janine(the "April O'Neil-like" one, not the movie type.)be their secretary....
Maybe it's a stretch, but it could help out the franchise, as well as create new fans without eliminating the franchise's past.
It'll certainly be a bit strange to see them in full CG, though. Will the CG be Final Fantasy-esque or TMNT-esque, like the cartoon? I mean, based on the story and subject matter, you have to take into account the level of realism you can maintain while creating the story.

Sadly, the latest news is that there will be no CGI film and the plot of what would've been GB3 will be turned into a new video game.

The fact that the banner apparently has a "Sony Home Entertainment" tag doesn't make me that excited, unless it's a complete first season of Real Ghostbusters before Lorenzo Music left.
