Octo, thanks for posting that link. It's brilliant. :D
I've been wanting to see that ending since I first heard about it a few years ago, when the early dvd releases which had it were pulled from the shelves. I watched the flick recently, and on the commentary, Frank Oz mentions how he wasn't too chuffed with replacing the ending, even though audiences liked it. The version we got still works IMO, but I would've loved to see the film with that ending put back in. It looks great. The footage looks pretty cool in black and white too. Feels more like a creature feature from the '50s. Very nice.

Here's the entire alternate ending. I already posted the link for the final part plants take over humanity. If you want to see the first two parts of the alternate ending go here for The death of Audrey

And go here for the Rick Moranis/plant fight, which thankfully the plant wins! :D

... Yeah, so? It's just the way it was supposed to end, according to the original stage show.

Duh.

Nah, just kidding! :P

Well, this is how the play ends (sans II's fight song) and I certainly like this better! I can't understand why so many people insist on having happy endings to things... jeebus... On the other hand, I LOVE downbeat endings. Princess Blade, anyone? "Oh, she's just gotta kill these guys and then everything'll be juuuust peach--- HOLY %^&*, THE GUY KILLED THE GUY SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH!!! WHAT THE HELL?! :D

Also, the kaiju Audry sequece was awesome as hell. Wow. I was actually in this play awhile back (almost two years now?!) and it was a lot of fun. I played a WINO... the "THEN YOU GO!" guy... And I was the Audry II Puppeteer!!! :D I seriously signed up for the role because I wanted to play Biollante. You think I'm kidding? XD

...Gotta be one of the best damn puppets I've ever seen... No CGI there, no sirree!

(Also, never thought of it as a retelling of FAUST... cool...)

On this bluray you can choose to watch the theatrical or choose a director cut with the alternate ending? Or is the alternate ending confined to the extras?
