Start->Jigsaw has disappeared. Now aided by his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. I for one am expecting this movie to be decent entertainment, like Saw II, but certainly nothing special. They're only taking a rushed 8 months or so to complete the movie from pre- to post-production, in order to have it out by Halloween. This rushing problem plagued Saw II, and left a staggering amount of underdeveloped elements and missed potential in that movie, so it's safe to assume that Saw III will be something of a missed mark too. However, going by that plot synopsis, the general enthusiasm of the returning film staff in the press release, and the fact that they've hopefully learned something from their mistakes with Saw II, I think Saw III does have the potential to be better than the second film, and probably a pretty gruelingly entertaining feature overall. Just don't expect it to be near the level of the psychological thriller mind game achievement that is the excellent first Saw film.
